# Fire Fighters and Galveston Flood gain their first compound exteriors

Two outer Pike attractions were still represented as one empty grounds rectangle and one generic low box. A close reading of the detailed insurance plan changes that. Hale’s Fire Fighters now has separate arena and pavilion ranges, a restaurant, an engine house and a tower. Galveston Flood now has a theater, a taller stage-and-scenery block and two domes along one side. [M006, Sanborn atlas sheet 3](https://data.library.wustl.edu/record/108214?ln=en), [M001 ground plan](https://www.loc.gov/item/2007633932/), [M005 later fair map](https://digital.libraries.psu.edu/digital/collection/maps1/id/30388/).

The printed M006 labels provide the only heights used in these studies. Fire Fighters uses 26 feet for its pavilion ranges, 65 feet for the arena, 40 feet for the adjoining south hall, 43 feet for the restaurant, 34 feet for the engine house and 82 feet for the tower. Galveston uses 50 feet for the theater, 58 feet for the stage and scenery, and 88 feet for each dome. The model does not treat the plan as a finished exterior view: roof profiles, openings, facade design, arena structure and dome curves remain estimates.

The attractions’ broad M001/M005 envelopes are unchanged. Their M006 parts are fitted conservatively inside those sites rather than presented as surveyed corners. At the north edge, the Fire Fighters solids begin below the unresolved crossing band. M001 calls this an overhead crossing, while M005 labels Station No. 3; M006 supplies no usable vertical profile. The inherited Transportation frontage and Skinker route therefore remain unchanged, and the proposed Transportation–Skinker curve remains deferred. A walkable ground-level model would not prove the crossing’s historical function or grade.

This pass also adds two modest connected lanes around the detached livestock barns already modeled from the livestock department’s dimensioned fold-out. B018 establishes the barn group and working lanes; M005 shows its broader road setting. The 20-foot lane width and fitted centerlines are conservative interpretations, not a surveyed road reconstruction. Focused checks cover repeatability, preservation of unrelated geometry and the two deferred-route records, M006 height limits, compound-part containment, collision behavior, route connection and full-width clearance. Browser review uses walking, elevated and seeded views under rotated reduced-fill lighting. Completed exterior photographs, a measured site registration and a crossing profile are still needed before these buildings or the Transportation connection can be refined further.
